Ryan Reynolds Is Green Lantern

Here's an incredibly awesome fan-made "trailer" for a Green Lantern feature film. The unbelievably talented fan-boy who made it cast Nathan Fillion in the role. But word comes today that Warner Bros. has settled on Ryan Reynolds to play Hal Jordan. And the thought of the delicious Mr. Reynolds in the skin tight GL one-piece has given me a boner all day.

For Sale On EBay

I've put my entire comic book collection up for sale on EBay. All of it. Every mini-series, every graphic novel, everything from Aquaman to Zatanna. I need the money and I could use the space, but mostly I just need the money. Plus, I am and have been oddly disconnected from my comic books for a while now so this isn't as traumatic as I always thought it would be. If you were ever a comic collector you will understand that last sentence.

Anyway, it's about 10 years or more of comics dating from around 1985-1997. A few are older and a couple of the series runs are newer. It's well over 4,000 comics in all. But they all need to go. Hopefully, some collector or store will see the auction and scoop these up.

No Ebay Comics For Sale

Either I'm pricing them badly or I'm not putting together very enticing ads or it's true that nobody is interested in buying 1980's comic books, but since nothing is selling I'm not going to be putting any more comics up on E-Bay. Instead I've started making one more attempt at putting together a comprehensive list of all the comics I own and selling the entire collection at once. Hopefully, since I live in NYC and there are several large comics and collectible businesses in the area someone will be interested and get me a decent price.

The cell phone and one of the notebook speakers sold however.

Riley has been pretty good and I have become more careful about what I leave out for him to chew up. Which is why yesterday afternoon I left him alone for about four hours as I took a class and went to a Gay-A meeting, thinking all was well. While I was gone he pulled six pouches of dog food I purchased off from a shelf in the kitchen and took them into my bed. Where he proceeded to tear open and eat all six of them. And though he did eat them all he also made a horrible meaty food mess all over the bed spread, that had dried to a delightful hard crust before I got home. It was so ridiculous I couldn't even get mad. I only got pretend mad and scolded him until he skulked off in a corner and showed the appropriate shame. Then I turned around and laughed.

I have to go now. I have a lot of meat-flavored bedding in the laundry to finish.

Comic Shop Open

I've decided that I really must get rid of my comic book collection. I need the space for some up-coming events (hint), and I'm finding that I curiously feel absolutely no attachement to these comics anymore. I get nothing out of owning them. I never re-read them or go through them except when I'm making yet another attempt to catalogue them. Plus, I desperately need whatever money I can realize from selling them off. So I plan on making a concerted effort to sell them all off in the coming months. I plan on pricing them at what I hope will be a fair and attractive price. Originally, I wanted to try and maximize the profit. Now I just want to make some money and get them out of my house. Whatever I don't sell in the next few months, I guess I will pack up and donate to some kid's charity.

It's That Time Again

A few days ago, my lower lip split and it won't heal. By the end of every day, my eyes are pot smoker red (for the record, no). I've been dehydrated despite drinking bottles and bottles of water. Yes, it's time to break out the humidifier. My apartment is generously heated by steam. I frequently have to open a window in the dead of winter. There's one open now. The drawback is the moisture is literally sucked out of your body. I started using the humidifier two winters ago. The result is dramatically better. And as a side benefit, it works like a white noise machine, and I sleep like a baby.

Sorry about the dearth of posts of late. I've been getting accustomed to the new job and getting ready to lose some really draining baggage I've been carrying. My long-time coming divorce is almost final, and I'll soon be rid of a pesky cat from Hell.

The new job is going great, although I feel totally guilty when I have to leave Jet alone for 8+ hours. I was able to help a lot of people today. And remarkably, most times when I pick something up that someone has left behind or has returned, I actually know where it belongs or how to figure it out. No small feat considering we sell over 10,000 products.

Oy, I have some stories. I'll try to do better next week.

Priced To Move

Several of the comic books I put up sold on E-Bay. Unfortunately, because I failed to put a minimum bid price on anything they all sold for the bargain opening bid of 99 cents. Between what it will cost to buy shipping envelopes and the price of the ads, I lost money on every deal. Ah well, it's a learning curve, I won't make that mistake again. Besides, I mostly put up comics I didn't give a rats ass about.

I'm six kinds of annoyed with The Hellcat. He broke the toilet yesterday fiddling with it unnecessarily. He made all these broad pronouncements that he would take care of it today, and then stayed out all night tending bar at a private party and getting drunk. Before he went to bed during the day today he managed to flood the bathroom as well. "Fixing" the toilet consisted of calling the "super" (translation: useless Irish immigrant) who said he couldn't fix it today and would be out of town for a few days. At which point The Hellcat went to bed and slept all day and night. As if it would be acceptable to have to reach in the tank and manually flush the toilet for a few days until the "super" got around to fixing it. So of course I did it myself. It cost all of six dollars and took about 20 minutes but that's hardly the point. Around 10 pm The Hellcat sent his no-class cunty bf off to work, at which point he marveled that I managed to fix the toilet, promised to wash all the towels and rug that got wet in the flood tomorrow (NOT) and then said he was going to bed. Apparently he was exhausted from laying in bed all day accomplishing nothing. Asshole.

Ebay Baby

Well, a few hours have passed since I woke up in an absolutely foul mood. I stand by the fact that I thought that movie sucked ass, but it explains why I sound so angry on re-reading it. I slept really poorly and woke feeling exhausted but unable to get back to sleep. I hung out for the past few hours in my room and read a book. I'm feeling like I can be civil now. And I'm hungry.
